Occupational Therapy Treatment

Occupational therapy addresses a variety of challenges such as motor development, sensory integration, feeding skills, play skills, and child / caregiver interaction.

A child’s primary occupation is to play and learn. Play is how children learn and how they develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving strategies, visual-perceptual skills, and motor skills.

Occupational therapists use therapeutic activities, such as play, to improve a child's muscular strength and fine motor skills. They also focus on self-care skills; oral motor skills and feeding; positioning; sensory integration techniques; fine motor skills and handwriting; and adaptive equipment.
